agency walk ins

hiya,
the other day i was at work (being a good starbucks employee) and a woman whose drink i was making started to chat to me and seeing as she was the only customer who was waiting i started to chat back during my creation of an iced latte. well she was a former model scout for models1 modelling agency and said i should consider going to a walk in when i'm free next in london. even though i felt rough as **** and had rank feeling skin she still said i had "male androgynous elegance" (sp?) not that i'm trying to big-up myself ... because personally i don't think i'm that attractive. however, i was wondering whether i should bother because i guess it would be a laugh and if something did come of it ... then y'know hehe. if anyone has any advice or anything cool to say then that'd be appreciated.

So when you walked into Models1 who exactly would 'judge' you to see if you could be a model? The receptionist lol, or would it be a scout or something? lol, 'cos i wouldn't mind going for a walk in actually when I'm next in london...

A model scout will judge you, take a polaroid of you to see how you photo and let you know if u have the right potential... basically.

It'll be on a particular day of the week for diff agencies.

my friend was scouted by models 1 in teh summer. she got given a card and a name with a number to call and then phoned them up for a chat and she had to go in and have some polaroids taken for them to judge from. They said she didn't fit in with the look of the other people on their books at that time but they kept her on the records and gave her numbers of other agencies.

so i imagine it's something like that - if you can find a number on the website or something call and then go in and i imagine they will take a few shots of you :smile:

I'd go, but at the same time remember they invite 100's of people and they may only be looking for a handful so don't take it too badly if you get rejected.

Who knows though, you could be the next Calvin Klein underwear model and your package will be on the front of every underwear package in the UK.

Go for it!! I can see why she thinks you have potential as a model. Of course it wouldn't exactly be nice if they turned you down...but it's definitely worth a try! You don't have to have a hair cut if that's how you always have your hair I think...they can see past that..if they want you to change it they'll tell you how etc.
