NHS waiting times

Does anyone know how to find out the average waiting time for minor operations on the NHS? I've tried searching google, but haven't found anything. I found some vague Government stats on how transplant waiting lists had been cut by some percentage or other... but nothing on 'non-urgent' operations, as it were...

It usually differs from hospital to hospital, but your doctor should have a rough idea.

The problem is, its not for me, its someone I know, who has been advised to have a minor operation, but is putting it off... They keep saying that they 'can have it any time' and has so far not asked their doctor about it, or made any arrangements. I wanted some way to find out roughly how long they would have to wait, to see if they would change their mind, and get their ass into gear! :s-smilie:

Yes there is a way of finding out if you know a few specific details already. Check this web site out here and fill out the form. Hopefully you won't have to wait as long as I did for my operation (6 months :frown:
