What would you do?

My friends and I came up with this hypothetical situation and we'd like to know what other people think.

You really like this boy, but you're too shy to let him know. You're really good friends for now, but you have a feeling that could change at any moment. However another boy asks you out and he's really nice, funny, kind etc., but you've considered him as a friend up until this point. Do you continue to wait for the boy you really like to make a move or do you give up and go out with the other boy who asked you out?

Don't want to influence anyone, but we think that the person wouldn't really be committed to the relationship with the boy who asked her out so therefore should turn him down gently.
