Not losing weight!!

Hey,
I know I sound sad but I've started a diet during Christmas but its because in eight weeks I'm going to Belgium and gonna see my crush!!! so I really have to look really hot!!! So, my diet includes three meals a day where I eat: a bowl of special K in the morning with skimed milk and fake sugar, a salad at lunch time with loads of veggies and Tuna or chicken or turkey and at night I have a bowl of soup with a low fat yogurt. Yet, my problem is I've been on it for a week but I haven't lost anything yet :frown: and I do an hour of aerobics a day, so i really wonder what I'm doing that is wrong!! Any advice would be great cause I really want to lose the weight, especially since I have been at the same weight since three years 77 Kg for 1.80m and I want to weigh 68 kg. Thanks

its been a week dear - weight loss isn't instant. give it time.

Three meals a day could be another problem.

In order to speed up your metabolism, you need to eat 6+ times a day, a lot of small meals are better than eating three big meals.

Simple - you're eating too much. You probably fall into the category of the population who underestimates how much you're eating.

Start weighing your food, and calculate how many calories you're eating.

A big bowl of special k, with milk, and sugar, can be anything up to 700calories.

What veggies are you having for lunch?

i find it strange that no one has said she shouldnt be trying to change herself for a guy if he doesnt like the way she is now then hes not worth having!

What, are you expecting for it all to drop off her next week instead?

how on earth did you get that from what i said? I said give it time, not another week.

is that you're eating too much sugar: you don't realise it because it's all hidden in your food.
1. Special K is FULL OF SUGAR. It's low in fat, but fat doesn't make you fat (!). Eat porridge instead. It'll keep you fuller for longer, and has no sugar.
2. Don't eat "fake" sugar: it can give you cancer, for one thing, and it also messes with your blood sugar levels.
3. Is the soup you have for dinner home-made? If not, it'll be full of sugar (especially if it's "low-fat"), as well as salt, and conservatives.
4. "low-fat" = "high sugar": low fat yogurts are much worse for your health, and more fattening, than full fat yoghurt. Eat natural yoghurt without any added ingredients: not sugar, flavours, berries....nothing.

Hope that helps.

i dont know do i imasillynarb..it's different for everyone..dont ask questions just to be awkward.

Well, according to your theory, she should just wait until the weight comes off her, what if it never does? Why shouldn't she have lost weight in 1 week?

Reply 11

This is one of the most silliest arguements I've ever read...

Reply 12

*sigh* i know if i start to diet, i dont see results in the first week, it's usually around the 3rd week that i see actual results. that is MY experience.
she is consciously doing things to lose weight so it's not like she's just sat around waiting for it to magically fall off.

Reply 13

Perhaps your just not the porker you think you are and theres no wait to lose!

Reply 14

Well, the reason you don't see things until the 3rd week is because your calorie deficit is so small that you only see results after a long period of time.

If anything you should see accelerated results in the first week, due to less glycogen stores and correspondingly less water.

I don't know how much she is intending to lose, but obviously things aren't going to plan, otherwise she would of experienced weight loss.

you need to eat more. especially if youre going to exercise each day, you'll end up burning yourself out

Thanks,
I cut out bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. I only have cereal in the morning for breakfast but I'll switch to porridge and see the difference. In additon, the vegetables I use in my salads are: lettuce, tomato, onion, beetroot, corn, cucumber, olives, green peper and sometimes apples (fruit). Oh, I'm planning to lose around ten kilos minimum. And about the boy thing its just I like to impress him because I know him since I'm eleven and at that time I was obese weighing 100kg and he saw me this summer at 75 so Im just trying to kick the last kilos off but it seems to be the hardest bit to lose.

(PS: I lost the weight in fat camp)

drop the olives and corn from the salad, olives are very high in fats(albeit good ones) and will bump up the calories in the salad significantly, corn is a very calorie dense veg.

Stick to green fibrous veggies: broccoli, sprouts, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, leek, cucumber.

I actually have a craving of green vegetables. They all taste so nice!

I think I've said this elsewhere in the forum, but I love repeating myself, as it works. Skip. Skip. Skip. With a skipping rope, surprisingly enough. It is apparently the BEST aerobic exercise there is. Strengthens the legs no end - but it's for long term weight loss and muscle growth, I must admit.
