I'm currently studying Russian at Oxford, but it's Russian from scratch (is your offer for the Course A path from A-level?)

I got my offer last year (Magdalen - which college is your offer from?) but I almost fit into your category of people - if you've got any questions about the course / life at Oxford that you think I might be able to answer, then PM me or write it in the thread. Nice to see another (possibly future) Russianist!

nah, i am instantly attached to u for thinking about russian. Sviet means light ; Svieti (pronounced with ' ts 'at the beginning) means flowers. Well, at least i think so 8 months after i finished my russian a level.

(My russian teacher, who i had since i was 13) gave everyone in my class a russian name. My real name's Sophie (boring i know!): hence, Svieta.....
