Best universities for sociology in the UK ?

Hey,

Im a french student from Bordeaux and currently studying sociology (1st year).
I obtained my French Baccalaureate in june 2005 with mention "Bien" (14,02 overall, 16/20 in economics and 19/20 in english).

I would like to come to the UK in order to study sociology but my university does not have any bilateral agreements with the UK (except with the University College in Dublin...by the way, is this a good university ?)

So I was thinking of applying at the LSE, but they may be several other good universities in UK, as far as sociology is concerned. I'd like to add that I'd love to study in London...

any suggestions are welcomed !

If you prefer London have a look at the London School of Economics or the University of Surrey. Otherwise Warwick, Cambridge, Edingburgh or Loughborough.

there are loads, for example;
LSE- pretty much the best
SOAS- also a london University - very good but offers social anthropology not sociology
UCL- also appart of the University of London
Kings College London- again part of the UoL

The Universities above are all very good, but maybe you should do research about living in london- it can be very expensive and sometimes it can be too much, if you know what i mean.

Outside london there are...
Cambridge- but only offered as part of the SPS course- so only apply if you are interested in studying Politics and psychology as well as sociology

and if you are willing to go as far as Scotland then look at Edinburgh and St Andrews.
