I get on with loads of younger people. I see no problem with it!
Mixed ages is cool for friendships, but always remember if it becomes very close, its against the law anywhere to have sex with someone. Which if both are so close to each other could cause problems, 'wanting it' but knowing you can't.
no of course not!
I'm sure it's fine. I remember a guy at school who was 12 and he was dating a 17 year old girl. I guess some guys are just mature for their age!
You're fine  My best friend is 2 years younger than me and my school hated it, for some reason. If you get on well then age should be irrelevant.

Thanks for everone's input.

What do you mean the school hated it? what did they do?
What the hell has it got do with them?

It had nothing to do with them. We became friends because we both got the same bus and in fact her head of year asked me to make sure she was ok on the bus etc...when we became friends teachers mentioned it at parents evening and said they didn't think it was healthy, and that my friend should be making friends in her own year. Stupid, interfering people...

lol.. chill mate I don't think he was insinuating anything..

Yeah a friendship like that is grand. Sure I have a friend who's 65. My neighbour, we chat, go to the pub together help each other out with different things. Sound man. I recently found out his dad worked for meschersmit (spl?) before helping to conspire to assasinate hitler (unsuccessfully, damn desk!). Basically as long as you're not the only 19y/o hanging around with a bunch of 14y/olds. That would be kind of weird and wouldn't say much for your mental/emotional age.
I'd probably be in a similar boat to you except that my social life, as with most young Irish people, revolves around alcohol. Basically I know a lot of young people I get on with, but don't socialise with them for the above reason.

Some guys have all the luck

I have quite a few friends who are a few years younger than me. As I go to youth theatre I have formed close friendships with people of a variety of ages. I can easily spend loads of time with some of the 12 year olds having some hilarious conversations about anything and many of my close friends there are only 15 and I am 19 so why not.
I have a lot of older friends. My closest mate back at home is 26 and I have friends in their 30s. I'd hate to think they were worrying that it was wrong of them to be mates with me because I'm younger than them. It helps to have a bit of variety. I like hanging around with people my age but then I also enjoy hanging around with those who are older too.

One of my best friends is 3 years younger, but then one of the people who knows me best I talk to is over 30. Friends come in all shapes and sizes, be grateful for the ones that turn out to be worth having, no matter who or what age they are.
