If he wanted his testicles to remain intact, no. Then again, he would anyway as he's said it before! He's very vain and doesn't want a fat gf

yeah, I definately would... but I think I'd put in more in terms of 'becoming healthier' than losing weight . I 'd want my boyfriend to tell me (kindly) if he thought I was gaining weight. he would be one of the first people to notice, and thus I could probably lose whatever I had gained by the time he told me fairly quickly, and not go up a dress size or anything.

there may well be a legit way, I just haven't seen it yet. All I've ever had is 'Livvy, don't eat that you'll get fat!!'

To be fair, I don't want to be fat. I'd far rather he tell me so that we're both happy - I'd certainly tell him and I'd probs be rather blunt about it too!

I would say something. My boyfriend and I are quite honest about this kind of stuff. If he was going to say something to me i would like him to suggest going to the gym together or something, so i felt supported. I would also need to be reassured that i was still attractive to him. xx

You could suggest doing something exercise-ish together, like ice skating or swimming or something, that way you're not actually telling her she's getting porky, but you're helping to solve it.

Definitely depends on the way you say it and the relationship you have. For example, if my Dad told my Mum she was putting on weight, she'd know he wasn't saying it to be mean or spiteful and it must be true and would probably pretend to be annoyed but appreciate him paying attention.

If you notice it though, surely she would have as well. There may be a reason, comfort eating or whatever, and there may be an underlying issue to address? If that isn't the case, then perhaps be more subtle about it and like the post above said, just try doing more active, fun things with her. Hopefully she will see you are trying to help, not just trying to make her not get fat. Be careful though, some girls are very insecure about their weight and may not appreciated you trying to surreptitiously slim them down! (Always wanted to use that word :p: )

Definately the way to go. Join a gym together and you both can benefit, says its a new years resolution.
