Do people place limits on the age of a person they would go out with? I used to, but this has gotten greater

When I was 19 I was seeing a guy who was 38... I ended up finishing with him as he was an immature ****

Providing you're adult and happy, I don't think it matters

I think age differences after the age of 20 or so are purely based on peer pressure and society's dogma. At 20 you should have enough experience and social maturity to base a relationship on the person themselves, not the date on their birth certificate.

^^ same as. I went out with a guy 12 years old than me but he acted like he was 5.
I think just as long as you are on the same wavelenth, its ok.

I just wondered what peoples views are. I consider myself mature enough to make the right decisions.

This kind of ties in with the thread about the guy who couldn't get any luck with older girls. I find that older guys are more mature. I don't know what other peoples feelings are?

being oldfashioned generally i like guys to be either the same aga or older than me, but only by a few years. when you are really grownup and mature then age does not matter, sadly i think that it does when you are still at school, although i do have friends who went out with much older people in school and it worked but that was becauese they were mature enough in their minds to cope with it

That should be the thing that concerns you least.

having tried lots of different age gaps I don't think it matters as long as the older party doesn't put pressure on the younger one in any way. I'm seeing a guy who is a lot older than me but we get on really well both have the same values etc. It isn't going to work out I could tell you that now but we're just enjoying spending time together which is more imprtant. When one is a lot older their life has different goals such as marriage family etc so as long as you don't get trapped...have some fun and enjoy the person!

I used to think that the older the guy the more mature he became...SO NOT TRUE  but for the most part it has been. I'm 17 and my present boyfriend is 30, but he doesn't look at all like it  but thats just me. I ususally stick to this bracket 25-35...I can't help it. I was even voted "most likely to marry a father figure" in school. To me, in the words of the late Aaliyah "age aint nothin but a number" lol unless he's like 50 and your like 16.
(ooh, I'm on lucky post 69  )
