Like my guy friends, they'll tell me I'm pretty but if girls like Paris Hilton or something come on the screen they'll be like "damn shes ****ing hot..id bone her...blah blah"
Girls fancy male celebrities to an even greater degree. I mean you read it on TSR all the time; Adam Brody this, Johnny Depp that, 'Orlando Bloom is amaaaazing
' etc. Just because when a guy sees an attractive woman on TV and responds accordingly, does not mean he can't see there is more to it than that. Seriously, I could see Britney Spears on TV and think "mm, yeah she's hot" (well a year ago anyway!) whilst realising that spending 30 minutes in her company would be practically unbearable and would probably result in my needing some serious therapy (even more the case with Jessica Simpson)! Same goes for almost all the other vacuous, vapid film/music/TV stars. Obviously in real life there are girls who are more hot and less hot, but personality does come into it more than girls tend to give us credit for I think. To be totally frank I wouldn't go out with a girl I didn't find at all attractive - but equally I am attracted by more than just looks; intelligence, being able to make me laugh etc all count a lot too!
hmmm maybe we should start a TSR dating agency lol, like adversits ourselves wiht a picture and details of oneself to see who may appeal to who??? an idea maybe lol sriously though like dont show physical appearance first then show after you have hooked someone. see if you will still like them!!!! remember i though of the idea first!!!!!!!!! i wnat rep lol

There are plenty of "lonely hearts" websites out there. A thread of such adverts on TSR would be pretty nightmarish to moderate too given potential issues such as cyber-stalking.

OK, on TV we alwyas see these ugly old guys with these young beautiful, seemingly perfect girls. Is that all guys really go for. Like she needs to have 0 percent body fat and just perfect in every way. Sometimes I feel like Im not good enough for any guy because of this image.
in a nut shell girls looks are important! but not all men have the same tastes in women. first looks always make an important impression, i mean if she dressed up like a slag then that is a definite no no, whereas there are some men who like that sort of stuff. for me a women has to have more than good looks she must be sophisticated have something about her which just drives you mad! (however i cannot describe that "something" its different for different people) and as for the "Im not good enough for any guy because of this image" if thats what men think then that is extremely shallow, and it is not true in all cases!

Well, Looks are the basic unit of attraction. You get to know the person because of that attraction. later the personality kicks in.

Well as a bi-racial female I find it hard to compete with these "Paris Hilton" types because obviously I genetically can never look like that.

in my opinion if a guy will only be seen with someone who is beautiful, some may say a "trophy bird" then he's not worth it in the first place. There is so much pressure on us girls because of adverts with beautiful women and celebs. But what is perfect?? Just be who you wanna be and find someone who will accept u for who u are

I know lots of great guys who have fantastic personalities, who I love being around, but I don't find them physically attractive in the slightest. That's why I'm friends with them, rather than dating them.
If people are funny about being friends with people they might consider 'ugly' then that is sad, but I don't think it's really fair to infer that someone choosing not to date an 'ugly' person makes them shallow.
i really dont understand the fascination with Paris Hilton. I really don't think she is pretty. Not being bitchy or anything it's just a personal opinion. i tend to like the slightly dorky guy *blushes* but being a slightly dorky girl myself that makes sense.
i know guys do tend to go for the best looking girl they see, and it is fairly understandable as girls will do it too. as a average looking girl myself with pretty friends (dam my pretty friends) im the single one
but despite the whole looks thing i think guys dont tend to date below them look wise as much as girls and girls will more.
i mean i have a friend - no names :P - and she is very pretty, but she dates a not so good looking guy compared to herself. infact they are opposites. i actually dont understand it because she doesnt even have the same personality type as him .... anyway im rambling !
