What blood group do you belong to??

I'm just going to find out when i give blood for the first time.
Except im kinda scared....

I checked the blood group genetic outcomes and found that I could also be an O person! I could possiblly give my blood to anyone!

You can only give blood to anyone if, as well as having type O blood, you have the right make up in the rest of your main rhesus blood group markers (c, e, C, D and E neg IIRC), are kell neg and are CMV negative. It's called 'Flying Squad'...

AB+ Apparently it's quite rare, and you can only give it to people who also have AB but get it from everyone.

I needed to have my blood taken (it huuurts! NOT mosquito bite-like at all!) and then they sent me a big red plastic card to put in my wallet.

Did they give you any ice cream to ease the pain a bit?

There is more to blood than A, B and O...

Most peeps know of the Rhesus D system (i.e. A+, A-, O+, O-, etc...), but there are litterally hundreds of other blood groups/markers too...

No, nothing. It was just at the doctors, he needed the blood because I was going to have my wisdom teeth removed. (Well I say removed... they weren't even there yet!) He just put an ugly patch up. When I got home I put one of our own up, they're yellow and have animals on them. Made me feel better.
