Capital FM Top 500 Hall of Fame

Capital have been counting down their annual top 500 Hall of Fame songs, as voted for by listeners.

Here is the top 10:

1 Robbie Williams - Angels
2 Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
3 James Blunt - You're Beautiful
4 Aerosmith - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing
5 George Michael - Careless Whisper
6 Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha
7 Will Young - Leave Right Now
8 Madonna - Hung Up
9 U2 - With Or Without You
10 Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One

Check the rest out here.

You can see some people have gone for their current faves, which has pushed some classics down the pecking order - we'll see the 'staying power' of some of the current 'new' songs in next year's list though! :p:

What do you think of that list and which songs are higher/lower than they should be?

LOL - no one's got any views on this then?

Pussycat Dolls? Are they having a laugh? That's got to be one of the worst songs of all time (beaten by their new one of course).

At least good ol' bo rap got a better place than in the Virgin one.

James Blunt doesn't belong at number 3, but it's not surprising given the crazy-love of that song recently. It won't be there next year.

Good to see Careless Whisper still in there. That's a great song!

Agreed. But I still don't see the whole obsession with James Blunt.

There was a poll in one of the papers last week about 'favourite songs of all time' or some rubbish. Put it this way, James Blunt even beat the Rolling Stones. He is becoming unstoppable. Slowly he will turn us all into crazy obsessive admirers.

He won't be around much longer if I get my way. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ahem.

I wonder what age the people were who chose those songs. Madonna's new song? James Blunt? Whaaat?

3 James Blunt - You're Beautiful

Unquestionably warped.
Enough said.

I'd like to know how this happened:

13 All Saints - Pure Shores

...and this:

19 Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All

Actually, there's quite a few songs in there which are... uh... interestingly placed. Those are the ones you'd hear the beginning of and then switch to another radio station.

 Oh dear god!

Hehehe, exactly what I was thinking. And for both to be in the Top 20 makes it even worse.

10 Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One

You are joking right...

just from looking at the top ten it looks rubbish. The top two robbie and queen are always top of these type of polls as for the rest , seems like a load of random songs chucked together. It would be nice to see if in twenty, thirty years time that the listeners of europe would vote james blunt 3rd or even funnier pussy cat dolls 6th. I would bet a very high amount of money that pussy cat dolls - dont cha is not voted in the top ten best songs of all time let alone 6th.
