I have slept in a double bed for the past 6 years and hate the idea of a single bed let alone quilt...Do any students use a double duvet for their single beds? or is it unheard of?

You can if you want, though it might drag on the floor and be a bit heavy (to sleep under and carry there).

Thats what I intend to do. The thought of going to a single bed is already giving me the Fear, no longer can I sleep like a starfish. And two people in a single bed? Madness.

Unless one side of the bed is attached to the wall like mine was.

Dude/Dudette it's perfectly normal, just depends on your preference and the duvet's tog....if its thick it might be too hot? Me for example, I had to have a thin duvet because of my ridiculous body-temperature

I do  I really like it too. I just roll myself up in mine.

There's not much point buying a single duvet for a year.

I do it, it just depends on the height of your bed!

To the peeps saying they'll miss there doubles at uni....
why on earth would you need a double bed at your parents house when you're 18 or younger??

I always had a single, so uni bed wasn't a big deal. But I bought a double quilt before I left

Yeah I did that for like a year and a half. Just folded it on itself to make the bed and it looked fine.

i have a double duvet on my single bed at home. it drops down quite far but i like it, you can snuggle in it more which is good particularly if it's cold.

Im having a double quilt. I have a king size on my double at the moment, I like the way it's big enough top cover the edges. Single quilts are horrible, they just rest on top. :zomg:

It is blasphemous. You'll be sent to the fiery pits of hell for evening considering it!

Not, but in all seriousness, why do you have to ask? Just use one!

Space. I can't sleep in single beds because I don't like sleeping near the edge, I have a tendancy to fall off. :nooo:
