GL (glycemic load) Diet. Excellent, easy and safe.

Weightwatchers has worked for me previously though.

The best diet ever is simply exercise. Then you can eat in a much more relxed way and still be healthy and lose weight.

i'm not on a diet. i don't see the point. just limit what you eat and have a bit of self control.

I'm not on any diet - i just eat what's around and when i'm hungry.

Going to try and eat more healthier this year, more protein; meat and maybe some fish as i'm going to try and put on some weight.

mmm you can eat omlettes and porridge on the GL diet.
Omlettes and porridge *serenades*

Actually you can eat omlettes freely at slimming world, but porridge is a bit crappier, because you can only have the tiniest portion, then you have a have a ryvita afterwards. And ryvita MING.

Not really on a strict diet just my own one really, and it hasnt started again yet since the xmas period!

Brekkie - Bran Flakes (with skimmed milk) or Weight Watchers Brown Bread Toast with Primula Light Cheese Spread, Marmite  or Reduced Sugar Jam. Sometimes an apple or bananna too!

Lunch - Low fat sandwich from Sainsburys (If im at college) or Jacket Pot with beans and salad from the Sainsburys Cafe, or If i only have 1 lesson after lunch a packet of Snackajacks to keep me going and then when I get home I will eat. If I am at home lunch usually consists of these reallygood low fat crackers/water biscuits (cant remember the name) which have like 0.005g of fat each, with some Primula Light Cheese Spread, Humous, Tztatziki (spellinfg? lol), Salsa (all low fat of course) and maybe some carotts cut up (you can buy packets of em and I eat the whole packet at once, otherwise id still be hungry) dipped in Humous or Tzattzkiki. Or sometimes a sandwich made from Weight Watchers Low Fat brown bread, with tuna in or something!

Dinner - Pasta with Tuna and Sweetcorn (No Mayo), Soup & a roll, A big salad with Tuna or whatever my parents cook (usually even if its bad I can get away with it because the rest of my food has been good/low fat/healthy or whatever), or beans on toast. Sometimes (usually if im at work) I have a Jacket potato with Beans.

I usually try to eat quite a bit of fruit during the inbetween meals when I get hungry, and drink tons and tons of water! :p:

And also Marks & Spencer do the BEST count on us chocolate muffin deserts, I have one or two of these a week, they are not very high in fat but feed my chocolate addiction, other times I eat these low fat fruit mouse things  I will post the name if anyone wants (cant think off the top of my head)! or those lovely low fat fruit bars or nut bars. :p:

Just eating healthily like the above has helped me to drop from 11 stone 11 (Oct 2004) when I was size 12/14 to 10 stone 4 (Start Dec 2005) and I am now a comfy size 12 and sometimes even size 10  *Proudness*, although since Christmas I am 10 stone 7! :p:
I dont excercise much, but now I have passed my test I may consider going swimming once or twice a week, now I dont have to get on buses/ wait in the cold with wet hair! :frown:

I do not stick to my diet 100% of the time, only about 60-70% of the time, I have still not reached a the weight/size I want to be, but thanks to this way of eating (well once I get rid of all the bad xmas food in my house :p: ) I am well on my way!

The good thing is, it isnt a strict diet as such, but I do plan to follow it about three quarters of the time!
seefood diet. If i see and i'm hungry i eat. But i won't eat for the sake of it. I've got high metabolism so i won't be fat till i'm 40 or somethin. Did you know that at least half the time you feel hungry you actually thirsty. So drink a glass of water and see if it stops the 'hunger'.
I'm eating smaller meals throughout the day, drinking 2-3 litres of water a day, cutting down my calorie intake by about 750 and....a teeny bit of exercise. I have to work on the last bit though

When I am hungry I usually drink water, have an apple or some other fruit. Usually if you ignore the hunger pangs for about 5 minutes it goes away.

My diet at the moment is terrible... I don't eat enough food, and the stuff I do eat is rubbish. I have just been away at various places, though, so I'm sure it'll improve as I get back to a normal routine.

I did a search for this, but nothing came up so I'm starting it!

What diets have you tried/are you on now/want to try for new year?

I'm on slimming world online at a vauge attempt to lose a few pounds. Except i give up very easily with diets, and it means that I've eaten crap in the day because you can, but then i binge and it all goes down the pan and makes it WORSE.

im currently on one which works a treat. Daily fat intake for women is 40g of fat, 60 for men, therefore im keeping to 20g of fat, doesnt matter if i go over with unsaturated fat though. Basically its just healthy eating, no softdrinks or candy etc.

Bloody hell.
Daily fat intake for women is 70g and for men its 90g.
I wouldnt call 20g of fat a day healthy eating...but you know.

20g of fat per day max is not enough and will have a detrimental effect on your weight loss. when will people learn? getting enough fat in the diet is important for losing weight.

If i was that bothered a good aim for fat intake is to not eat anything thats over 3 or 4 grams in fat in 1 sitting.

Diets are not a good idea unless you are obese; it's better to eat healthily and loose weight slowly or when you stop dieting and return to your normal diet you'll only put it al lback on again. BALANCE PEOPLE!!!

The Limit the junk and eat smaller portions diet.
i'm vegetarian.
i make all my own food - ie no junk, no processed. but i was just raised that way.
i try just to eat when i'm hungry, and not graze.

i eat chocolate, but no biscuits or crisps.

and i'm 5'10" with a 24" waist, so it's working. the yoga probably helps.

--------------

also, when i eat, i eat very large portions. this keeps my metabolism up.

:ditto:

no way is 20g enough even for a slimming or even cutting diet. My last cut I was getting aout 25% of my gram split from fats (20 carb, 55 protein). I wouldn't go any lower than 40g of fats per day. You're average man shouldn't either.
These all seems to be diets to lose weight, anyone got any tips on diets for putting on weight?
