I get it in my toes sometimes... is it like a cramp and it's really painful and you have to just wait until it goes away? :s:

um never heard of that ever happening to anyone i know. i think you see a doctor man! especially if it happens frequently!

I have seen a doctor, and he says that it is quite rare, but thought that there may be someone on here with it.

Mine is caused by a syrinx in my spine (fluid that is in the spinal chord and can trap nerves causing paralysis)

Pianist, it is similar, but if it hurts, it isn't the same thing that I have. I lose ALL feeling and ALL movement in a complete arm or a complete leg, not just a part of it.

I see... I think you should definitely see a doctor if you're concerned about it. Btw I think the toe thing is normal, it's just something to do with the blood circulation.

How are you being treated? I thought syringomyelia was progressive and usually leads to irreversible damage (due to hypoxia of the nerves) unless there was intervention...

Could be blood circulation for the toes, but I dunno.

Going to see my doc on the 5th anyway, and he specialises in this stuff, but I really hate it sometimes when the leg goes, I fall down, and the landing makes an arm go. I just have to lie on the floor for a while!! Unfortunately, a few months ago, I landed in a REALLY bad place - pile of dog poop :frown:

Quite funny after it happened, but when you can't move and you're stuck in it, you REALLY aren't liking it! LOL

I am a medical freak! You are quite correct in that, as the syrinx SHOULD increase and trap the nerves on a more regular basis, but there is something in my DNA or whatever that means I regenerate cells at a much higher rate than normal, so the syrinx is not growing, but infact shrinking very very slowly!!

I love healing fast, but it is a pain at times, like with tattoos for example - 3 weeks and mine was healed, but some of the colour was lost cos it healed so fast.
