Keep repeating myself, odd little problem

Ok, I’ve noticed I have this problem. I keep repeating myself in conversation all the time. Like one time, I’ll say one thing, and then a few mins later I’ll say it again. I’m not fully aware that I’m doing it, it’s not like I think to myself, oh I know I’ll say that again. I can’t control it fully. I don’t mean to do it, it just happens. I keep thinking how annoying it must be for people to have to put up with (people im talking to ect) but as I have no way of fully controlling it, I don’t know what to do. It’s like a compulsive thing I do a lot. It’s really odd.

Is anyone else like this? And if so, what did or do you do about it?

Thanks all
I do this but more frequently closer in time. For example I say, 'then I went, then I ent out.' If you want to fix it just notice when you are doing it and try and rectify it. noticing it is what matters. My friends don't care that I speak like this, it's just a random stammer type thing.

I havn't heard of anything like this before. Do you feel nervous when talking to other people?

Hmm the only advice I could give is to think about what you are saying before you say it
my mum has the habit of doing something quite similar, only she repeats dialogues off the tv, although she's never aware that she's doing it, and always denies it when me or my brother bring it up. strange.

i'm like that although it will be like I'll tell my friends something that happened then if i see them couple of days later i'll tell them again because i can't remember telling them. I also forget things that happen. I watch a film then a week later I can't rememeber it, i could watch it again and still enjoy it as if i'd never seen it!

You must love exams  :p: !

I always do the friend thing as well, but with different groups of friends and can't ever remember which set of people I've said something to and which group I haven't.

lol :p:
i constantly repeat myself.
i have to warn new friends in advance these days.
it's almost like patchy amnesia. I will have no recollection of entire conversations i'd been active in - even if they were only a day ago.
this used to happen if i was a little drunk or tipsy. but now i drink much less and it happens when sober.
i end up asking people the same questions because i don't remember asking them in the first place.
and a few days ago I was having dinner with a group of 8 people, and i could only remember 2 of their names.

I really dont think its a symptom of OCD, unless you keep feeling the need to repeat yourself???
As in when you said something you dont for a split second think "Oh i better repeat that" do you??
Sometimes its natural for people to forget what there saying and repeat themselves, especially if its during a fast paced convo, or if it has been a few days since you last made the comment.
