Mmm they're all built in the same factory by the same people so you might as well...!

I'd be tempted to get the Citroen too, but they're not as good looking. Do they come with the same spec?

Toyotas are great, if my Yaris is anything to go by, get the Aygo!

For the cost of the Aygo/C1/107, you'd get a lot of second-hand car...

If you want new, actually, I'm sure you can get a deal on a Citroen C2 that's actually cheaper than, or around the same price as a C1.

for that money i think u would be better off going for a second hand car that is about 3-4 years old

then u can get a mk4 golf gti

what would u rather have? a golf gti, or an aygo?!

i do like the look of the aygo - but the depreciation of new cars is a killer :frown:

oh, a black aygo =

a white aygo = :puke:

You could do so much better for the money

I think you will regret it at 80mph on the motorway when the engine is thrashing away.
Reply 10
But to be honest, I will rarely use it on the motorway. They just look so good. I much prefer the Aygo's image to the Citroen's.

Aygo will also hold its value a bit better.

Got to agree, i got my yaris a year ago second hand, not one problem with it  touch wood
Really nippy and smooth ride
Doubt it will hold its money any better once people understand it is the same car, on top of that, the C1 will have to lose an awful lot more of a percentage when compared with the Aygo.

Engines/Trims Year O.T.R. Price Parker's Target Price 3 Year Value
1.0 VVT-i 3d 05 £6745 £6600 £2755
1.0i Vibe 3d 05 £6595 £6450 £2461

Is what parkers states, although I am more than aware that the purchase difference is slightly higher. The important numbers there are the target 3 year values, as you can see, the difference is likely to be less than £300 (i suspect less since they are the same car and people will learn that). So if the aygo costs more than £300 higher, forget it.

If however image is all important to you, firstly you should gain maturity and then buy the one that makes better sense, after all, it is the same car.

As has been mentioned however, there are numerous better purchases out there, especially for a young new driver.

Ooooh I said the Aygo was beautiful but get a C2! I have one and I love him!!!!! xx

Too much attention to Parkers. That book is the biggest pile of worthless tat I have ever come accross.
Careful consideration should be made in regards to a host of other items which Parkers does not take into account.

The reasoning about being the same platform has no bearing on the fact that Audi has a better depreciation rate than a Seat for example. The Aygo will hold its value a lot better. Toyota is a more known reliable company than Citreon will ever be.
So I suppose you can give me a better source for such information? I thought not, unless you have access to glasses.

- It's the same car...not just the same platform.

Yup. And I think that the engines are all basically Toyota units, so they shouldnt go wrong. Can't see them being hugely unreliable cars, to be honest.

They are all nice cars, but I do think that you can get better for the same or less money on the second-hand market. Mk4 Golf, old-style Focus, for instance. Actually you could probably get a pretty loaded Mondeo for that sort of money!

Wow, the bitchyness.
The source of information is me. I know a car better than parkers will ever know one. Anyone with any clue about cars will know that! Do your own research and find out the ins and out of a car before going to Pakers. The prices won't match guaranteed.

Your the type of idiot that will try to buy a car off an owner stating that their pricing is incorrect as its not what it states in your parkers guide  My gosh, you have a lot to learn!
What the hell?! You have summed all that up since I used a parkers 3 year guide (which can be very accurate). Oh dear....

Well I won't argue back, just know you're out of line and wrong, I know the flaws with parkers, I also know that car buyers are a lot more aware these days.

You actually made me laugh since it is fairly unlikely you know more about the car industry than me. I have been part of the industry since about 6 when I went to auctions, both salvage and normal, I learnt to drive when I was 12 and have been working on cars since. I have worked within the car industry for a short period of time in addition to this. Just because I chose not to be part of your "motoring soc" means nothing.

I could go on, but as I stated, I don't want to get into your little personal attacks.

edit: I got negative repped! For a bitchy reaction, considering my comment had very little "bitchiness", I am very surprised. Anyway, if the person who bad repped me has an issue with me, they can easily PM me to discuss it and we can see whether my addition to the motoring section is wanted or not.
