Yeah babe, I get homesick all the time. I can't go home easily (it costs a bomb and takes forever). The best thing to do is to KEEP BUSY. Get out and about, throw yourself into your work so you don't have time to think about it all.

:hugs: Aww, I get this too (although I'm never away from home for that long, I board at school). The best thing is to try and keep yourself busy, and think about the positive side of being in Paris, usually I find I miss home more when I'm worried about something at school or I don't like the way something is done etc. Remember that you're not alone in feeling like this, most people get it to a certain degree.

Keeping busy. Think about what you'll gain from being away, especially in Paris. Make sure you're having fun, ie. making new friends (to have fun and TALK about your homesickness).. i dunno, i can't really giive too much advice as i don't have it.. my ex did big time though.

I am a proper wreck. I thought it would be easier going out the second time but I keep crying and just want to go home. I have plenty of friends here but I guess I've just realised that home will always be home and no-one can live up to the people I love back there.
yup evreyone gets homesick! Watch a chick flick or a sad movie and cry your tears out, then go clubbing

I can relate to that. The first time I went away to uni, I was fine and didn't give it a second thought. This time though, I'm really upset at the thought of leaving home again. I don't want to go back and leave my family and friends here! Its so sad :frown:

Guys, I have a serious homesickness problem. I just got back to Paris for another 6 month stint and I can't stop crying. Does anyone else get terribly homesick even though they left home for the first time a while ago? Does anyone know a way to make it better that doesn't involve heavy medication?

Thanks.

Watch an episode of Les guignols de l'info, that'll cheer you up
