I have BIG problems

This started last year. I keep on getting waves going through my stomach, and my stomach keeps rumbling even though i have had a full meal. I think it's linked to the fact that about the same time this started, I began having constant toilet problems. I keep having to go to the toilet (and i don't mean urinating). DOes any one else have this problem?? It's really affacting my school life. I keep having to go home because i dont want to use thier facilities. My doctor said it might be mild IBS, but thats a load of bull... they just have no idea whats wrong with me. Please someone tell me they have got better from this :frown:

yeah, we know better than your doctor, a qualified medical practitioner with presumably many years of experience. of course.

Thats what I was going to suggest. Have a read up on it (or google it - www.google.co.uk) and see if there's anything you could do/avoid to help it. For example avoiding eating certain things etc. Hope you're feeling better soon.

It might not necessarily be IBS. I caught a bug once I think in year 11 and found similar symptoms to what you're describing. It mysteriously disappeared after I started getting regular sleep, (like not waking up too early one morning, and then very late the next) and to eat roughly the same amount of food at a certain amount of time, so for example wake up, eat a ceral bar, eat another one at break, eat lunch, and as soon as I got into this routine, the problems dissolved. If you're having serious problems though, I suggest talking to your doctor about it and saying that you think it might not be IBS.
Hope it goes well!

Usually in the morning I ate a cereal bar which lasted me until break, though you might want to eat 2 if you usually eat more. Ate another at break which got me through til lunch time. Also if you're worried about stomach waves or whatever, try not to drink loads of liquidy things, especially fizzy drinks.

I hate stomach waves. Everyone hears them, and you get "looks" from people. So no liquids will stop them.. nice.

Yeah I used to be paranoid about that because I hardly ate before and even times when I had eaten a lot it still happened, but I think my main problem was anxiety. My doctor said that sometimes stomach waves can be caused by being anxious about it happening, like a "nervous stomach" or something. Try to forget it and not focus so much on it, I'm sure others won't hear it as much as you. I thought I'd never get through my GCSEs with this problem, but I was just being paranoid and I did:rolleyes: Don't let it bother you at all.
Also, I know this sounds a bit silly but moving around a lot like standing up and sitting down frequently can cause weird movements in your guts, that's my theory anyway lol, so being in a similar position like sitting down in class in a way for most of the time should help a little because your guts aren't being stretched and moved around, which may cause some waves.
As for the other problem, I'm not really sure but you could look up on google or see if anyone else knows the types of food you can eat that may help, but I think that it makes sense that you should have more fibery food or solid food so that might help.
