I've currently wrote 900 words of a 1500 - 2000 essay but I don't know what else to write. Here's the question:

" How does Poe use language and literary techniques to present and reveal attitudes to death and violence?"

I'm doing it on "The Black Cat" and "The TellTale Heart". If anyone is doing anything similar can they please help!!

I got full marks for this last year, and got praised by the Chief Examiner. To be honest, I don't know what "else" to suggest you write about because I don't know what you previously have written about.

Use secondary critics, if you haven't already. There are plenty available...
