STD's

I'm confused about STD's, and it's probably through a lack of education, but i was wondering if anyone would know. People assume that you do not have a STD if you're a virgin. Based on that logic, where did STD's come from as everybody is a virgin at some point? Can you contract them in other ways and therefore a virgin may infact have a STD? Sorry if it's a stupid question, was just wondering.

I imagine that it's just possible (though very unlikely) to get STIs through contact other than sex. Though that's just a guess.

Can't HIV/AIDS be transmitted via blood transfusion and hence you could have the scenario where someone is a virgin, but has an STI.

Remember, virginity is only lost when you have penetrative sex.

A number of STIs can also be passed on through oral sex, so you can be a virgin and have an STI, yes.

As has also been said, things like HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis can be passed on through sex, but that's not the only way.

but whether or not you're done oral or not....i mean STIs do have to originate somewhere...it's interesting to know how..

I thought some things can be trasmitted in other ways (as already said above) for example if you have a wart on your finger and it touches down there Im sure i was told it could spread down there and become genital warts. Although that may have been my mother trying to scare me :s-smilie:

I think one of the STDs first developed when some weird man shagged a monkey (maybe aids).

I think its by one man who had loads and loads of sexual partners unprotected = mixtures of different people's genital fluid
and the poeple he shagged and himself has poor genital hygiene

ok thats my little theory there, im only guessing but i think genital hygiene might be one of the reason together with loads of sex and gang bang

i dunno...i mean...viruses just start somewhere don't they - i mean they mutate and form - not just sexually transmitted ones - but all viruses and infections..

Yeh i know, it is wierd, but to prevent youself from getting any disease, infections, illness, bacteria and virus in general is to have a healthy lifestyle and build up your immune system

Those STD, AIDS, HIV are horrible diseases, i hope in the future there will be an actual vaccination and cure for it
