this is rediculous, of course people could kill, it is no different from cutting down a tree. we have a natural instinct to NOT kill one another, otherwise how would a species develop, but if it comes down to it, it is only an action.

i think it depends on the situation really. I wouldn't say that i have any 'killing potential', i wouldn't kill for the sake of it, i would say it's more my protective nature that would enable me to do it.

No, he's right. Pretty much anyone can kill providing they know where to aim for. It's just most people don't know (which can only be a good thing).

i couldn't imagine myself ever killing or harming someone else but if you were in a war situation where you had to you would have to get over the guilt thing. Now there probably wouldn't be so much hand to hand combat but if you look back to WW1 when much of the fighting was done at close range in the trenches. If you were in a trench and had someone coming at you with a gun you would do what you had to do.

Everyone can kill if it ensures their survival.

well then i guess i'm talking about something else. I'm not talking about the actual ACTION of killing someone, lol, there's loadsof methods i'm sure. I'm talking about TAKING A LIFE, and no i disagree, not just anyone could do it. You'd have to have one of two things:

1.) a lesser amount of respect for the human life, enabling 'murder' to be seen as 'killing', viewing taking a life as the same thing as 'chopping down a tree'

2.) a surge of a fleeting emotion, ie fear (for self-defence), protection (to kill for someone else) or hatred paranoia grief etc

I still stand by what i say. Pretty much anyone can kill, providing they strike in the right place they don't need to use much power at all. The human body does have some major weak points that can easily be exploited.

well war psychologists reckon there is a driving force that allows normal people to kill in the heat of battle. ive forgotten what its called now  you just have to look at the vietnam war for evidence that we humans can turn into brutal killing machines.

To kill or to be killed? I should imagine all of you would choose to kill.

HOW I COULD JUST KILL A MAN!

Could you kill?

I don't mean murder or that sort of thing, but could you actually kill another human being? Say if Britain (or the country you may live in) comes under attack and the army has been exhausted, and it is down to civilians to fight against the aggressor. Could you take the life of another human? Could you kill that mind and take away that life? Can you kill? How would you feel about your killing?

Meh, I have no problems with it.

I think what he is saying is that if someone was trying to kill you, not like murder for no reason.

I could kill easily I think I would enjoy it! If someone was trying to kill me I would knife them in the neck and dig out the vena cava (actually better than going for the jugular contrary to popular belife!) and spill their blood all over the place and then wipe the blood over my face and become tribal like chant and roar and stuff! I would then slice open the stomach while they are bleeding to death and still alive and crush their ribs by jumping on it and then cut out a lung while they are still alive. Then I would cut open their skull and knife their brain just to see what happens if you stab certain areas while they are still alive (if they can still talk etc etc). The I would cut off a leg and make them eat it!

YES I COULD KILL AND WOULD PROBABLY LIKE GETTING TO MY TRIBAL INSTINCTS IT IS INSTINCTIVE FOR ALL HUMANS TO KILL BUT SOCIALISATION AND NORMS ETC STOPS US FROM KILLING> BUT WE ARE WIRED TO KILL INSTINCTIVELY!
Yeah I could kill someone if I had to but wouldn't kill if I could help it. When you take a life you are taking so much more than just life in terms of biology. You take the mind thoughts dreams memories and people that knew him/her.

it depends who you have to kill.
if it was a friend who had jus betrayed you i would choose not to kill.
i dont think i have the guts to killl anyway it would haunt me for the rest of my life.
how could you live with such a thing??

I could kill if there was no other option available to me, and therefore if i killed, i will feel that i had to.

Oh absolutely. Could I kill an invader that sought to oppress me? Sure. And then I'd cut the guy's ears off and wear them around my neck as a momento.
I would only kill if I ad to! Only in severe circumstances like if I was in a war or something and Iraqis were shooting at me I would have no choice but to kill wuldnt I?! Duh

But do you have the mentality that you would choose to go to war in the situation where you would be expected to kill?

I don't think so to be honest. But if it came to a situation where it was you and them you would have no choice unless you wanted to die if you were too passive it would be you that ends up dead. But I don't think Id have the mentality to go into the army or something and kill no.
