Hello everyone

I've been offered a place at Homerton College, Cambridge to study Education with English. What do people here think of both the college and the course?

I only saw the college on the day of my interview. It all looks really nice, but i can't compare with other colleges as homerton is the only one i have been to :smile:

watch out for the outrageously priced rent at homerton (avwerages almost twice as much as most other colleges.

Thanks Keithy - Speaking as a person who has visited Cambridge and most of the collages I can say that each of the colleges have their individual merits. The city itself it gorgeous. I picked Homerton specifically for Education Studies but also because i felt it is perhaps less intimidating that the others...e.g Kings.

Actually education studies at homerton is much harder to get into than in many other cambridge colleges.

i think i agree with musicboy. homerton is not as easy to get in as most may think. especially for non education subjects. i have a friend there and he applied not just because of a guaranteed scholarship but also ensuite rooms + girls...

damn, my mate got rejected by homerton for compsci.... and he got 8A* 3As at GCSE and predicted straight As at A level...
apparently they have a world famous hacker at homerton that's why my mate applied.

Heya i applied for Homerton for Economics and got an offer of AAA. Btw i have met that world famous hacker...he was a millionaire at 17 or sumthing! Nice guy

no he's doing SPS i think.....he's not a compsci tho he prob shld be hehe.........i met him/talked to him because i know someone who goes there and he is her college 'dad'. I can't give his name away....he's far tooooo famous for that hehe N e ways how do u know he even exists?

Homerton also does teacher training (my sis went there for that) which is why its often thought of as a backdoor, because teachers training isn't very competitive there.
