Uni has no clearing spaces...good or bad?

Recently read an article stating a few unis which had already announced that they wouldn't have any clearing vacancies. Mine happened to be one of these unis.

Would you consider this to be a good thing or a bad thing in the eyes of an applying student? If the uni was in clearing then it shows that students have failed to meet the requirements, meaning it could be you. However, if it isn't in clearing then it shows that all the students fulfilled their offers

Not necessarily. They could have taken on too many students in the first place hoping that some of their candidates did not meet their grades.Don't expect to be 100% in because that means you fall harder on Thursday!
bad logic, aint even gnna explain ya know

not necessarily - if it is not in clearing then there arent any extra spaces yes? so if you have slightly missed your offer then they are less likely to take you! :/

Corrected. If you ring up to plead with them to change their minds, that is.

I'm not expecting to be in for sure. It's not my mentality I was just asking which way you would perceive it as, hence it saying in the title "Good or bad?"

I'm probably one of the most pessimistic students when it comes to grades, which is why I'm trying to worm myself into some sort of optimism.

The article was written before the uni's even knew our grades.

And yet the head of UCAS in this interview has claimed the opposite of what the Guardian is:

You didn't notice that the Guardian article quoted her as well, then?

Seeing that Chester has no places for clearing has wrecked my life. I just have this proper bad feeling that they over-subscribed Politics, and that i've failed to get in.

UCAS has made so many mistakes in the past years and opened early - why cant they just be kind and do it to us! im fed up of waiting! and feeling sick to the pit of my stomach! :L Good luck everyone!
