With the latest bout of royalty visiting areas, saying "yes, it's rather sad, isn't it?", then leaving, I was wondering if any royals have ever visited any affected areas (from natural disaster and such) and then donated money to help, or have they always done **** all beyond a bit of talking and publicity?
Do they actually go to places for other people, not themselves?
I'd like to know of no-nonsense donations of value, considering taxpayers paying for the royals like the travel expenses (why? :s) for the very hypothetical trip that had them donate, royal charity administrative costs and so on.
