Emirates pretty much epitomises crap modern stadiums with no life or character.

Oh, never been in, it looks amazing from the train though. I have had a friend tell me Old Trafford has a **** atmosphere, dunno if that's the modern day fanbase and expansion, but there you go.

I've been to a couple.

Best - Anfield, Old trafford (about 10 years ago, I'm a United supporter but it wasn't as good as Anfield, at anfield I felt a lot more involved with the game) and Millenium Stadium.

Worst - Hereford is pretty ****

Depends where you are. If you're in south or north stand it's pretty **** but either end you've got the Stretford end and the away fans which are usually great.
You can tell the difference from the proper hardcore fans and those who just like football in this thread.
Most "proper" fans will prefer the old "****ty" grounds. And please, I hope the person who said the emirates is good cos it has padded seats never steps foot in a football stadium ever again.
Obviously I am biased, but Ninian Park is probably at the top of my list. Playing there against Leeds in the cup when they were top of the prem, bloody amazing. The actual ground was a ****hole, but boy was it an awesome ****hole. On the other hand I am not a huge fan of our new stadium. On its day it can be amazing, but most of the time the atmosphere just is not there.
Best- Milleniuem Stadium
Worst - Turf Moore, I mean they habe wooden seats.

I haven't sat down at a football match for about 5 years, so don't give a **** if the seats are padded or wooden.

Can't wait for Peterborough away, purely because of the terracing. That's proper football.

Best: St James' Park
Worst: Villa Park, cue 'aston's a ****hole, I wanna go home'.

Why Villa Park? Just cause Newcastle got relegated there? I can't see why else it would be tbh, far worse stadiums in the Premiership/Championship. Never understood why Newcastle fans took such offence at Villa fans laughing at them, fans were laughing all over the country at a fair few grounds as well.

Best: Quite like London Road, even though the town is a ****hole

Worst: Selhurst Park maybe, and Mk Dons of course

Agree with you, the atmosphere of an old ground can't be beaten. The Cardiff example is perfect. Ninian park was amazing, falling apart, but nonetheless amazing. The new stadium, well I hate it. Admittedly I've only been there for an international game but I can't imagine it's massively better for Cardiff games.
Oh, I've been to the San Siro as well, that was good, flares coming from the top standsa nd people beneath only in one section to avoid. But it's surprisigly intimate for an 80,000 seater stadium.
Anfiled does have something quite special and the old wembley did. I think If I had to single one out though, it would be hillsborough with portman road second. I loved that ground.

I said that, it's ****. It's one of theose grounds where everything feels disjointed. Same with Carrow road, there are massive gaps betwen seats and out the side of stands.

Best - Old trafford (I was completely awestruck when i came up the stairs to the seats and clocked a view of the stadium for the first time in the away end) & As bias as it may be i cant knock Pride Park at all, for a new stadium its got some charm, its not your traditional bowl as its got the two tiered west stand & the continental style executive boxes in the corner which is unique & the ground rarely has a poor attendence dropping below 25/26,000 and the atmosphere rocks! I also really liked Ewood Park!

Works - Coventrys ground, the ricoh? the most soulless empty place i've ever had the misfortune to watch a football match, it was empty, quiet and just depressing + its just places on its own by the side of the motorway if i remember correctly.

I agree. It's why I'm iffy about replacing the Lane. It's too damn small for our fan base, you can hardly get tickets and even when you do go the High Road completely clogs up with people making it impossible to get anywhere quickly, yet when you do get a ticket you get that "aaah" feeling and at the actual game you get a fantastic atmosphere.

Best - Hampden. Nothing will beat this.
Worst would be Falkirk Stadium - ****ehole.
Worst grounds, St.Andrews Birmingham City, just a horrible ground and it stinks. Everton, dull and outdated. Luton Town, just awful.
Gillingham, the away end is pretty much scaffolding.
Upton Park West Ham, cramped.

Bramall Lane, smells bad, not much room and in a crappy area.

Best Grounds
Arsenal, plenty of league room and nice seats

Old Trafford, huge ground, usually a good atmosphere when I go there.

Villa Park, yes I am being bias but I am sure every fan of their team says their ground is the best.

St.James Park, again always good atmosphere here, we always sit high in the stands but it's a good view.

Worst - Leicester City's old stadium, really shocking!

Don't ever step foot inside a football ground again.

Why the hate for newer stadiums? Seriously, just cos they haven't had over 50 years of memories doesn't mean they're 'soulless'. A stadium isn't just going to 'have' character overnight...
I thought the emirates was very impressive, easily one of the cleanest and nicest stadiums I have been to.
