Why the hate for newer stadiums? Seriously, just cos they haven't had over 50 years of memories doesn't mean they're 'soulless'. A stadium isn't just going to 'have' character overnight...
I thought the emirates was very impressive, easily one of the cleanest and nicest stadiums I have been to.

It isn't necessarily 'hate.' I was simply criticising using leg room and standard of seats as criteria for judging a stadium. Utterly ridiculous

In the Emirates case, it lacks any distinction, it's just a symmetrical arena. At Highbury, the north and south stands were a world apart. It was a unique ground.
Suprised nobody has added Boundary Park to the 'worst grounds' list...

i've only ever been to villa park in the premier league, and tbh it was average. didnt help i had to leave at half time cos i got food poisoning from a chicken at service station on way there :frown:. remember shearer scoring though

i've watched a lot of football in spain though. i've seen el classico at both the bernabéu and the nou camp, bernabéu was great but the nou camp was incredible, truly amazing atmosphere. everyone gets a free program and at half time at nou camp every signle person folded ut up into a paper aeroplane and threw onto the pitch. there must have been 50,000 paper planes flying down, it was an inspiring sight. catalan anthem great too

however, both were pretty full of tourists like old trafford is and this detracted from the atmosphere. And the best football atmosphere i've ever been in was actually at the olympic stadium in barcelona (espanyol's old ground, since relocated) where i saw the barcelona derby and it was the best by a mile, with the exception of myself virtually no toursits, all pure spanish football hardcores (was a chair throwing incident at half time lol) and some mega passion. Better than el classico. and as a bonus, because the ground was built for the olympics it had massive seats, at least twice the size of a normal football ground. also its in the most beautiful national park on top of a mount overlooking the entire city. i'm gutted they moved staidum.

i once watched the england v brazil match at the new wembley. my dad's mate is in club wembley and we were in the corporate bit just in front of the boxes. it was ****. it was full of city boys and posh executives on business freebies with clearly not an iota of interest in the game who talked through the whole thing, my brother got out his seat to cheer at one point and some prawn sandwich (literally) eating posh boy told him to ''calm down or move ''down there'' '' (pointed to the normal stand). we virtually had to sit in silence. my god that was an ordeal and unexpectedly takes the crown as my worst visit.

I understand what you're saying but being 6 feet 2" I have had the experience of going to Anfield and Old Trafford... I wouldn't say ruined but certainly diminished by the fact that the leg room was non-existent where as there is no such problem at The Emirates
i liked upton park and anfield
not really the worst but out of the 3 millmoor rotherham

It's an away game, unless Anfield and Old Trafford have roof that's lower than 6ft2 then i'm sure you have no problem standing up as you should be.
Suprised stadium:mk isn't on more peoples 'worsts' lists!

For me, best: Old Trafford, the valley, hillsborough, memorial ground (bristol rovers), spotland (rochdale)

Worst: London road (peterborough), Kettering's stadium

The atmosphere at the Nou Camp is utter ****. They have that small band of 'ultras' (Boixos Nois) behind the goal who bang a drum, and that's it.

like i said you really need to go to the espanyol ground for a proper la liga atmosphere. so many ultra there that my dad wasn't sure it was suitable for us! (we were young)

Even so, you have to bare in mind i was at the nou camp for el classico, which i imagine is probably a better than usual atmosphere.

Best - Nou Camp
Worst - Elland Road

I haven't been to many, so i'm sure Elland Road isn't bad.

Elland Road is a good old fashioned stadium. Bit scruffy but nice enough. I am a Leeds fan though

My favourite stadiums are the old fashioned ones with a proper dug out and loud fans  Don't like the modern round ones like the emirates. Soul less with no history, and terrible fans

Haven't been to many grounds, even less to watch games. Best would have to be the Millenium stadium, closely followed by Stade de France, which despite being a bit away from the pitch and a bit of a modern bowl, just had a wow factor about it. Worst would have to be Farrar road, Bangor cities ground, but I will be gutted when they move to their new stadium.

North End fan?
My favourites were the Nou Camp, Wembley and The Emirates. I guess Stamford Bridge is nice but I've been there so many times I suppose the novelty has worn off. I actually didn't think too much of the Bernabeu. It's okay.

Barnet is definitely the worst.

Yeah, the Nou Camp is incredible. I also saw Messi score his first ever goal for Barcelona in that game which was a nice memory to take home with me. I do actually think Paint Trophy (Brentford v Carlisle) final. The latter had a better atmosphere, to be fair.
