Geography Clearing Places

Hi, just some general questions:

Does anyone know which Universities are normally involved in clearing for Geography?

Also, I am not 100% about getting my predicted grades at the moment- instead of ABB more likely to get ABC or ACC (hopefully A in Geog but maybe a B- King's are after BBB (in the prospectus they say BCC-BBC) and Queen Mary in the prospectus says BBC-ABB- do King's and QM go through clearing?

Thanks

any uni with unsubscribed places on courses will come for clearing.
will be more likley to get places from lower listed unis. As far i i know northumbria has clearing every year.
I tell you now its worth a thought....
any way im sure you will get your grades so no need to wory, only think about it if its needed
Royal Holloway are usually in clearing - they will let you in with ABC or ACC I'm sure anyways.

I dont remember seeing Kings last year, but they might well have been in. I would stick with trying to get to UCL, its the stand-out University on your application if I'm being honest.

The number of universities participating in Clearing can change year-on-year, it just depends upon whether that particular university has filled it's quota - and it's not just the ex-polys either, some well respected universities occasionally pop their heads in Clearing, many do nearly year.

I got a letter from UCL offering me an interview but i actually emailed them and said quite honestly i didn't think i would get their grades, they may like to offer the place to someone else, and sorry for wasting their time. Plus i prefer the courses and atmosphere at King's and QMUL. I'm NOT going to get my predicitons so clearing is a very real possiblity...unfortunately- and i MESSED up a resit today as well....
Queen Mary go thru clearing.. or they did last year. My geog tutor actually received an email from them on results morning asking him to point any clearing students their way.

Also leicester, lancaster both had clearing places, as did manchester for physical geog & geology. I ended up at Edinburgh who didnt advertise clearing spaces, but when i rang up about a different course they said they had one space on geog.

So there really are some well respected unis in the clearing lists... just have to search around and get in there early. And this year should be even better clearing-wise as the predicted drop in applicants means more clearing spaces!

How does the whole clearing system work? I heard that the guardian prints all the places available on results day...is that right? or do you just ring the uni?

yep every place left at uni for clearing will be printed up in the papers, usually the guardian and i think also the times and telegrapg i think. Then basically you phone the unis and see what they say. But don't quote me on that as i didn't go through it. However I didn't make my predicted grades but was still accepted so fingers crossed and good luck with the revision.
