Tattoo: removal or touch up?

I've got a semi permanent tattoo that is fading. I can either leave it to fade and get it removed in 2 1/2 years when I leave uni, or I can get it touched up, so it looks good, and then get it removed in 2 1/2 years. I want to get it touched up, my mum wants me to leave it to fade.

Edit: I'm going back to uni tomorrow or the day after so if I do it and hide my back til then, she might never know. When I called her and said I wanted to do it, she asked why I bothered to call her if I wasn't going to listen. Does that mean I can do what I want?

What do you think?

Tattoos are stupid and ugly and hideous. Do whatever it takes to get rid of it asap.

Its your skin, therefore your choice.

I'd vote "do your research before getting something as stupid as a semi permanent tattoo, as they don't exist" but I can't find that option :frown:

:frown: It's definitely faded.

I just phoned up the place and the tattoo artist's left anyway.

Edit: Juno - do you have any idea how much removal would cost for a small tattoo? It's about 3cm big but it's just an outline. Thanks

hurrah! so we've gone full circle. Why would you want a semi perm tatt anyway? thats like having half a foreskin. Either get one or don't. Or in the words of Yodo. Do, or do not, there is no try. The end.

Well, this says £80 for the first 8, and then £60. here just says "from £60".

I'm more of a piercing specialist though

I very much want to do, parents very much wants me to not do. Conflict of interests and they pay my tuition fees.

Thanks for the websites
depends on how much it will cost u to have it touched up and for how long, also, hide it from your parents if that's the case.

semi permanant?

i didn;t even know they exist how long do they last for my two tats are permanant ones!! coz i wanted them lool
its your choice i love tats id have another if i had the money
Have it touched up, as permanent? Apparently the "semi permanent" ones just turn into a big blur in the end, and you cant do much about it, because the shops shut or get different tattooists in..
it's your skin though, so do what you want!!

You are being thoroughly repped when I can.
I was just about to rattle off a snide comment to the same effect.

Yeah, thanks, get the snide comments in instead of helping me out. :dong:

It is semi permanent. It's fading. But not as fast as I want - although they said it'd last five years. If it wasn't fading I wouldn't be asking the poll question, would I?

Edit: I can't get it touched up since the tattoo artist isn't there, I don't know how to close the thread but it's redundant now anyway!

What is this some kind of hindi thing? I have never heard of a semi permanent unless its like the ones you get at disneyland at the beach of like a cat on a surfboard. If its "semi" why do you need it lazerd off surely some exfoliating skin wash and a go over with some wet sanding will get it off?
