I need to replace my zip disk but don't think its worth it as they are unreliable. I've noticed the USB caddies are cheap on ebay so I am thinking of getting one those.

I also need to get a cheap 2.5" drive of ebay. My question is how do I get it work with both PCs and Macs? I will be using Windows XP and Mac OS X with it. Would I have to some how create a partition for the mac?

i think you would need to have 2 primary partitions, a windows one (fat or ntfs) and a mac one (i dont know what they are called). and you wouldn't be able to see whats on the other one (ie if using the PC you wouldnt be able to access the mac partition).

However, i wouldnt know how to do the actual partitioning, you would need special software as i dont think you can access USB drives through the BIOS
