Easy way to..

What are simple ways to loose a belly?? Over the x-mas holidays, I have developed a bit of a belly, and with stress, I am eating more and more..and its going to get worse if I don't do something about it..

Some tips...exercise methods to loose it (that can be done at home)?

I would reccomend doing some stomach crunchs which involes lying on your back and doing the sit up but not as far as you can go otherwise you are using your back not your abs. In terms of eating more and more before you eat think, am i really hungry? If no dont eat der, if yes take a drink see if your still hungry after that, if yes eat slowly til your full and repeat :smile:.

i have a friend who was obese and is now a shadow of his former self. Basically he stopped eating all the high fat stuff completely and bought himself a membership to a gym. Most importantly he stuck at it. He went to my gym so me and my pal went with him and encouraged him as well which helped i am sure

Cut back on teh worst sugar/fat sources ( switch from candy and chips to propper food) and do some sports you enjoy. Also, try to relax a bit soo you don't get so stressed. Not that it will make you lose weight, but beeing stressed and worrying about your weight will just make you sick and depressed. Try to shape up in a sensible and balanced matter, and make sure you don't worry about it alll the time. Getting yourself all stressed out about it will just get you exhausted and depressed. Try to improve your habbits a bit without going completely nuts.

IMO..80% diet...20% Exercise..sort your diet out and you will see a marked difference..as for exercise..loadsss of cardio and hanging leg raises..best exercise for abs:wink: (and love handles:P)

Sometimes you are not actually hungry - just dehydrated. Have a hot drink or drink a glass of water, at least half a litre to replenish lost fluids and fill yourself up =0)

How many sets of how many reps would you recommend?

I've been to the gym 5/7 days this week, just doing running/cycling/rowing. Thats helped me quite a bit. The break from revision has also helped de-stress me.

Just follow the advice listed above really - if you do join a gym, you do feel a certain level of satifaction by sticking to it and having self discipline, and once you get over the "everyone's looking at me, they realise i don't know what i'm doing" trail of thought, it actually gets quite enjoyable to knacker yourself out :biggrin:

Crunches. I know people say you can't spot reduce - and they are probably right - maybe I just loose weight from my stomach more quickly than other areas, but do crunches; stick your toes under something like a chest of drawers/wardrobe/something low to the ground (for leverage so you don't bounce around!) and then cross your arms on your chest, bend your knees and bring your ass as close to the wardrobe/draws as you can, then lie on your back and pull yourself up to face whatever you are facing, making sure you don't let your arms get loose and move position (this is the tricky part after like 70 or so crunches!).

Other than that do lots of other exercise, cut down on the high fat foods and drink gallons of water (trickier than it sounds!)

I think its better to do crunches without sticking your feet under something because it stops you using your legs to pull yourself up. A good way to lose fat is to exercise continously for more than half an hour. You stop using carbs as an energy source and start using the fat for energy so this reduces your fat level.

mmmm i love a bit of a belly on a guy! not a proper beer belly, but flat with a wee layer of cuddly (not a six pack). hot :smile:

but yeah if you properly want to lose it, i suggest eating very small dinners (if any) ...and by dinner i mean evening meal. i find that if i want to wear a top that means my belly has to look ultra flat, i skip dinner the night before and breakfast the day of. works a charm.
