Everywhere has chavs, the uni is excellent.. don't listen to them

esex is the heart of chavs (Council House And Violent).

i doubt the Uni is as bad, but be prepared to meet at least some chavs. they aren't as horrible as everyone makes out, as long as you can stand the accents, outfits and attitudes.

being slightly unfair to essex there. A minority of the people are idiots, most of them aren't. But then, the minority of people in most universities are going to be idiots, and I don't think Essex is any different just because it is 'Essex'.

people are always going to say the uni is full of chavs just because it's in essex, and they are always going to say it's full of tarts with white stilettos because it's in essex, they are always going to say it's full of dumb people because it's in essex, but that doesn't make it true. The university is great, yes there are some thick people at the uni, but you get that at most places... i suggest you go and have a look round the universitiy, talk to some students and see what you think after that. Don't listen to people who are stereotyping and don't know what they are talking about.

the original post seems to be indicating essex as a whole.

its not like everyone here is a chav. you won't be mugged every time you walk out ur door (unless you live in a council estate, though even then its unlikely and even then no worse than anywhere else!). id say the chav ratio is no worse than in other counties.

lol iv bin mugged 3 times and got a scar just under my left eye as som1 punched me with a ring

i hate it when people say chav= council house and violent or anything like that, just because you live in a council house does not make you a chav. or violent!

im thinking of applying to essex next year and i got fed up of 'oh are u going to bleach your hair and come back wearing white stillettos?' ....uh....no.
