I'm her father actually and you've upset my daughter.
I get this a lot too, but I figured it's because I try to give off the impression that I'm not interested and not available.
You should perhaps make eye contact and smile, and try and go out of your comfort zone a little bit. Some guys are shy and often feel intimidated - they are human after all and I suppose it has to work both ways.
