I've just had a wave of mega excitement. Embarrassing costumes, 1000 drummers, all of 47 rehearsing together, 2 days of rehearsals this weekend... AWESOME!!!! :biggrin:

Hi Mandy, in answer to your previous post we were told that all of 47 would come together this weekend - I'm assuming it is Sunday morning (that will be a killer getting there early) or is your section rehearsing Saturday afternoon. Last Saturday afternoon was cold but at last I had my costume fitting - nice. :biggrin:

Can't tell you how good it feels to know.
Everyone at my work was amazed - they lived & breathed every moment
of my application with me - so It's some well deserved cakes all round today

For all the other "Not Heards"/Deserves out there, hold on &
keep the faith -If I've got in then it's surely only a matter of time

Also, what would you recommend I wear on my feet?! It doesn't say anything in the email about wearing trainers.. I don't really want to carry footwear that is unnecessary as I have a long day and a lot of walking with all my stuff.

hi the rehearsal was great and wearing trainers is fine, not a great deal of movment apart from using your hands of course.

The 44 SUFs are there on Sunday too - looks like we'll get some idea of the scale at last! Thanks for all the tips re. sunscreen, dust, timings, to bum bag or not to bum bag .....really looking forward to it all!

They showed us a presentation of how the ceremonies is somewhat suppose to turn out. I must admit I was quite impressed. The ceremonies are going to be amazing.

I was there last night and it was great. the video was good and nice to see Danny Boyle there. I did meet another female forum member not sure who it was though.

Hey Granta, I'm 47d too - we should get together Sat and say hi. How did you find last week? Apart from being cold - was good to see DB jigging in the "Royal Box" or maybe he was just trying to keep warm! - and I finally got my costume fitting (huzzah). :godancing:

Hi Drumbeat - it was me you met in the queue! :smile:

To all those 51ers rehearsing over the next few days - you'll have such a wonderful time finding out what we'll be doing! There's a nice little surprise thrown in there too :biggrin:

Regarding footwear, I would wear comfortable shoes that you can happily walk in for a while. No specific need to be trainers though (I wore my boots and didn't have any issues)

Exciting times guys! It still doesn't seem real! :dance:
