Magdalene?

But otherwise yeah, basically what everyone says: Trinity at the top, John's, Queens, Kings, Emmanuel, Clare and Christs tend to come next (in no particular order - sorry if yours isn't there), and the rest is pretty random.

The only constant is the poor grad colleges no one even new existed to we began this poll...

An awful lot of stuff is ranked higher than Clare that shouldn't be. Queens' is astonishingly high, as is Magdalene.

And don't start about John's again, or I will start to sing the song.

Just a thought; I'd heard Magdalene in Oxford is pretty prestigious - not to put its Cambridge counterpart down, its good but not really 3rd place, could the ranking person have been swayed by this? They don't seem to go to Cambridge...

Queens as well, its good and a nice college, but second most impreessive to people outside Cambridge? hmm

plenty of theories there...

probably best explained that I was at Magdalene

am not completely biased though, otherwise Magdalene would have been top and John's would have been bottom...

basically its just how impressed I'd be if someone said they'd been to that college - not everyone is going to be the same

Hmmm. Would look ok with Clare above it

And yes, KaiserSoze - Magdalen (no e) Oxford is apparently more prestigious, which may help. Dan:

I didn't realise my table was the final ranking.... You'd think so from the comments received above!

Its just my person opinion - I don't view the girls colleges very highly, and I count things other than academic reputation. I count stuff like the students / fellows I've actually met from the colleges, usefulness at sport, size of their bar, etc... Its just my personal view based on my experiences at Cambridge - everyone will have a different view, and many of those will be based on their own experiences.

As for putting Trinity top, this is only because of their sheer academic reputation - they're **** at pretty much everything else!

I thought Emma did better academically that trinity? *points at her copy of The Times*

Anyway, I digress. Newnham should obviously be at the top.
