people worried with weight!

okay i used to be a big hefty 16 stone and i was 17 years old. found it really hard to lose weight i tried mostly all diets going and it never helped. the problem was that i was looking for quick fixes. the thing is i nibbled toooooo much i wcould and would eat anything and everything. i would have mood swings my skin was spotty and i would crave certain foods. i was very worried and due to bullying and some postive encouragement from friends and my mum  i decided to do the mother of all diets i would stick to this no matter what and guess what it worked. 9 months later i way 12 stone feel/look great and i am very happy with life. long term diets are better than quick fixes.

the only thing i changed in my diet was i ate less i did not eat any crisps or chocolates at all no sugary drinks. i drank water and pure juices i tried to eat loads of veg and fruit. i ate as much as i wanted but would not stuff myself. there would be days when i would be extremly sad or upset over nothing and i would crave chocolate or something sweet but i did not crack. i also found meditation and walking very good too. i medtated once in the morning just to set my day out would do a few breathing exercises (at the start of the day is best) and i would try to walk 2 miles a day minimum.

i am very happy with life at the moment i have slowly put drink, sweets and sugary stuff into my diet slowly but i do not go over the top. i still meditate and walk regularly.

IT IS IMPORTANT YOU HAVE PEOPLE AROUND YOU WHO SUPPORT YOU AND YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON SOMETHING SUCH AS A PAIR OF TROUSERS THAT NO LONGER FIT OR DO IT FOR YOURSELF IF NO 1 ELSE!

it feels great when you put on a pair of trousers that are NOW loose and you go out and shop like crazy!

peace xxx

Hey, well done Mortimer, :congrats: that is quite inspirational.

I totally agree that dieting should be done slowly because if you crash diet (your old quick fix) then the body goes into panic and slows the metabolism down to conserve calories. If you exercise more and reduce your calories in a realistic manner, then you WILL lose weight.
