At this minute in time, i'd have to say the exams :-P

... after about 40 seconds of trying to think of something thats more dislikeable and throughout the year, i can't really think of anything.

I thought you'd already decided to favour Birmingham :reddy: (thats directed at birmingham)

Things I don't like:

1. The weather
2. The campus is too scattered, I need to travel from one end to another to take my exams.
3. I'm having lectures in a chaplaincy. Can you imagine that?
4. The exams are held in sports hall and we are supposed to stand outside facing the cold elements helplessly till they allow us to enter.

But of course, there are positive points as well. Since you only asked for the negative points, I shall give only those.

Regards,
Ericz

yes i am sure the only reason for the merger was to make us all go on some wild goose chase looking frantically for the building your exam to be in, only to be told by some reception people at the old umist site that "that building doesnt exist". then finding a lift that is like a black hole, that takes you only to certain floors, and then you have to find your way through the maze that is the big red building (forgot what its called) to find the lift that will take you where you want.

i am not too fussed about the weather as such, cause it rains all over the country, but in my first year i lived in a leafy area and wet leaves really upset me, they are dangerous and they smell, and they ruined my shoes and numerous pairs of jeans.

apparently the standard of admin at the uni has taken a nosedive (or maybe i just have bad luck). last summer they left off one of my exam results, saying i was absent without permission, and i had many a distressing phonecall trying to convince people i did actually sit it. and i was expecting and depending on a big fat student loan to be paid yesterday and it hasnt, apparently because the uni hasnt confirmed my attendence, which has put a bit of a kink in my plans. not sure why they havent confirmed, i did everything i waass supposed to, but i am not happy!

i didnt like the fact that if anyone dared park their car outside our house last year, even for 5 minutes in the day, it was guaranteed that the windows would be smashed. and maybe even the mirrors ripped off for good measure.

i dont like the buses, but they are very efficient.

but i love manchester! if i can think of any other low points ill let you know. but there are far more good things than bad! much better than birmingham.

I haven't really noticed the merger, as my school was already shared between the 2 Unis
My school was only Uni of Manchester and essentially nothing has changed. I was here the year before the merger and quite honestly can't notice a great deal of difference. Apart from I have to go to the stupid Sackville street and renold building for exams whihc is just plain annoying.
To be honest the weather in Manchester is quite poor!

It's warm in manchester, and rains very little compared to where i come from. It's like summer here now, you're a bit soft if you think the manchester weather is terrible

i agree, it doesnt really get that cold, and the famous rain, well when it rains it sucks but its the same all everywhere else in the UK. we live in a rainy country. and winters arent cold compared to london, or the south of france, where it is freezing. you could always pop to primark and buy a coat and scarf. and it feels to me like manchester is so much better than london in the summer! maybe its just the company but it always feels more summery to me, laying on the grass there.

Hey steviewonder  nah i havent officially decided anywhere - js applied to do psychology - its still a complete toss up between birm and manchester! im probs gna have 2 do a pros and cons list - or throw a coin (if im a lil disappointed by the result, ill kno 2 pick the other
manchester reminds me a little too much of my home town. and it's pretty close to it too. (but obviously that shouldn't affect you!)

blackburn - wheres that? lol sorry if thats a rly stupid question...im blonde - can that make up for it?! hehe
Manchester's nothing like blackburn! Aside from it being northern, the similarities stop there. (Blackburn is in east lancashire, 20 miles or so orth of manchester)
