I'm starting a degree course in 2004 in biochemistry and I was just wondering does it REALLY have a large enough impact on job prospects which uni you go to?

I mentioned in an earlier post I was torn between Cardiff, Bath and Sheffield but would someone who say got a First from Cardiff not get a job over someone with a 2.1 or 2.2 from Bath or Sheffield?

Well, I have seen loads of places mention that employers really like people who can speak a foreign language or two as well. Since I'm quite good at Maths, my ideal course is Maths with Modern Languages at UCL, which I doubt I will get in. If I get in, I will have a Maths degree and be able to speak English, Cantonese, Italian and Japanese by the end.
