Close, but there are other values as well. Your function will be defined on all real x, except where the denominator is zero.

Try completing the square, to find out when/if the part under the root is ever negative.

If x < -2 the part under the root is negative.
The places where the function under the square root changes sign will be -2, 0, 4.

That's correct.

e)

The domain is more restricted than that.
I'm assuming this is over the reals.
Hint: What if z=3.5, for example. Is that in the domain? Try working out u(z).
