Caffeine based energy drinks...risks? watch

Recently I have been drinking a fair few of these, sometimes up to three cans of Relentless a day. Tbh I prefer the "buzz" from the energy drinks more than I prefer getting merry on alcohol.
What are the long term effects of consuming large ammounts of caffeine a day or "binging" on them? Or even fizzy drinks?
Am I putting myself at any risk by doing this? Or am I just worrying over nothing?

    Many thanks TSR!

Your tolerence will rise after a while and you won't get the buzz but you'll probably end up with some effed up sleeping patterns in the meantime.

At least drink through a straw so you don't wreck your teeth
Nah, I think you know the answer to this one: it's bound to be bad for you.
I used to be addicted to fizzy drinks then stopped having so much because I didn't like how much sugar I was actually consuming every day which could lead to stuff like diabetes, etc. (To be fair though, I was drinking far more than you do, I was practically substituting energy drinks for meals).
Whenever I do drink caffeine-based drinks now (in times of stress ), I agree with the previous poster in that I don't get a buzz at all, the effects seem to have worn off me completely.

I used to be quite addicted to caffeine and i suppose its kinda along the same lines. It will raise your blood pressure, any stimulant will do that which can be very detrimental to your health. Im just wondering whether your increasing your risk of diabetes with amount of sugar, im not sure, dont quote me lol. I would feel dehydrated, dizzy and really irritable. I mean i LOVE the buzz off energy drinks and tbh i think any healthcare professional is going to say 'in moderation' like with alcohol.

when i was in year 10 6 years ago, i used to drink a 2 litre bottles, 2 for 1pound back then, bottle of kick every single lunchtime for about a year. how i didnt get diabetes i do not know

they do **** you up though. i don't drink them anymore, but whenever i have any of them they really do send me into a bit of a daze. they don't give me energy funny enough. they just make me stare at stuff for ages. i avoid fizzy drinks in general, aint had a single sugar soft drink in about 6 months, feel so much healthier. ya know a lot of nutritionists believe soft drink consumption to be the main cause for rising global obesity? even more so than fatty fast food?

Looks like the side effects list for my SSRIs..

But I call bull**** anyway - there's no way caffeine can cause paedophilia, OCD etc. Maybe anxiety, rapid heart rate, temperature changes, breathing rate changes but not serious mental health problems - other wise we'd surely have cured a lot of things by now!

Don't you will build up a tolerance and when you do need it at times such as major exam the following day and you need to pull an all nighter or late night driving you will not get any "buzz" from it.

if you take enough caffeine you can die, no ****. you probably aren't approaching those levels, but what a horrible way to go.

i cant personally have any caffeine cos it makes me think im gunna have a heart attack, but i do have issues with anxiety so caffeine probably wouldnt affect somebody else in the same way!

if you drink them in moderation they're okay.. but defo drink them with a straw, fizzy drinks have ruined my teeth!

Depends, one every say week wont do any harm, more than that you will begin to notice it affecting your sleep and general concentration levels. Cut it down to maybe 2 or 3 a week when you need then and you will be fine.
