My Boyfriend has just started using steroids and immediately ive noticed the change in moods, but was wondering whether someone could tell me good and bad points and is anyone else on them or know someone thats on them and how do they act? xx

Swap them with viagra when he's not looking. You'll have to watch out for swings then too, but an entirely different, more physical, kind.

They can certainly have an effect on mood and affect (certainly affected me when I had steroid injections)

There's different types of steroids though, and everyone responds differently.

I'm presuming these are medicinal rather than recreational???

He will probably get really agressive at random times for no apparent reason, he will also probably have a really short fuse. Another, even worse effect, is that his penis will shrink to the size of a maggot.

Well hes only had one injection so far which was last week and i have noticed his moods are changing but i do realise its not his fault , and yes he is wanting a bit more sex!! And there isnt much i can do really, its his choice :frown:

I had them for medical reasons, and the effects were not desirable. I wouldn't ever have them again unless necessary.

Possible side effects include:
- Long term, risk of osteoporosis
- Infection
- Effects on mood
- Induce what is called 'Cushing's syndrome' - due to excess hormones... get acne, stretch marks etc
- Long term use suppresses the normal adrenal access, so if you stop, there's problems with under secretion of hormones
- Testicular atrophy

The list really goes on and on.

His choice, but i'd advise him against it!

Proper Post cycle therapy will ensure that test levels return to normal, along with the size of your testicles.

Steroids are perfectly safe to take provided you don't abuse them.
