Concussion

I got hit in the head tonight while I was out. I'm sitting here now squinting at the screen with a killer headache waiting for my dad to arrive. I feel really dizzy and rather sick... could it be concussion or am I just over reacting. I'm actually scared of going to sleep just in case I am.

Going to the hospital is the right thing to do isn't it? They're not going to think I'm stupid for being there?

Yes, go to A&E and get yourself checked over. I did a similar thing a couple of years ago and they kept in me to watch over me just in case.

I just feel a bit silly going to the hospital for having a headache. Plus I'm terrified of hospitals, and if someone with a needle comes any where near me, they're going to have me having a panic attack to add to my problems..

Don't go then, as it's usually procedure to take a blood test if they give you a bed.

All this fuss about needles. *sigh* For some of us they're vital!

Well I went, and it turns out I've got (quoting the Dr) very very very very very mild concussion, and a bruised nerve above my eye, in other words nothing to be concerned about. Just got to keep my fluids up and take Ibruprofen till the swelling goes down and the headache stops.

Glad I went though.

Glad you went, and things seem okay

My mum had a similar problem, but it unfortunately turned out to be much worse (she's good now though). The ambulance people did get really really lippy like "stop wasting our time", but thankfully she insisted to go in and get it sorted.
