Arabic Placement Test

As a part of my degree, I will have to study Arabic, most likely at SOAS. I'm sitting a placement test on Friday. Has anyone got an experience with this? What does it consist of? Am I likely to be placed to a not-ab-initio group as I know the alphabet, some basic grammar (pseudo-present and past tense, numbers, cases some sort of subjunctive and apocopate or whatever it's called in English), but have never had a chance to actually speak the language? (To clarify it, I have been self-taught.)

Any advice appreciated!

Sounds like ab initio would be safer.
