    Hello,

I'm in my final year at university now and along with my standard exams comes the dreaded dissertation coupled with job applications.

I've believe I'd probably be most suited to Sales & Trading (more the Sales side), despite not knowing as much as I should unfortunately. My lecturers and family friends in the field have advised me that I'd be suited to sales, and I'd like to know as much in depth about the field as possible.

So, I decided to consider doing my dissertation on an area heavily related to Sales & Trading. Although this is probably difficult, it will give me a massive insight into the field. The problem is, I'm not sure what a good topic is for the dissertation. It can be on ANYTHING in Banking.

Does anyone have any ideas of topics that would be related to Sales & Trading? Thanks for any help!

To be honest with you, I don't think that it would help in getting a job, if that's the way your thinking. It tends to be more towards the technology/quant side of things where a good dissertation can help in hiring - I know someone that got hired into a HFT trading hedge fund off the back of theirs.

No I'm not using it to get the job.

Doing a dissertation in the area in which I'm applying will just help give me added knowledge in part of the field, thats all. I guess I can bring up points from my dissertation in interview questions like ''what interests you most within Sales'' etc.. but thats it really, its just to give me knowledge more than anything else.

Whatever you end up doing, do not decide to test the CAPM.
