    I'm just wondering if these two statements mean the same thing?

    does it matter if you say
    Substrate is no longer complementary to the shape of active site.

    or

    Active site is no longer complementary to the shape of the substrate.

    Use the second one, first makes it sound like the substrate has mutated and not the tertiary structure of the enzyme being distorted.

    Because its the site that changes not the substrate
