I'm re-applying this year I got terrible results, missed my offer. I'm retaking my exams, I hope my results won't affect my chance of getting an offer.

    Last year I applied to
    Sheffield
    Newcastle
    Bournemouth
    Queens Belfast
    Liverpool

I only actually wanted to go to Newcastle/Liverpool and I think I made a mistake in applying for Sheffield as I didn't realise I didn't meet their requirements. I didn't really want to go to Bournemouth or Queens. I got my offer from Newcastle last year not any others.

This year I want to try and apply to some of the lower ranked universities as well with offers I know I will be able to meet for sure and have an insurance choice. I'm thinking of for this year. I want to study information systems (business information systems) .

    Newcastle
    Northcumbria
    Liverpool
    Liverpool John Moores
    Portsmouth
    Leeds (maybe)

or maybe somewhere else that would be a good university? or a good reputable lower ranked one? . A city university.

Are these places good universities to apply to? I know that Newcastle ans Liverpool are just the others.
Does the uni ranking really matter? as you still come out with a degree.

    Hi there, hope your well

It's a shame you haven't received any replies to your thread. So, I shall be the first :P

I'm from Liverpool and all I know is that Liverpool uni is of course better than Liverpool John Moores. It's better because of the reputation etc and because its part of the Russell group. However, having said this, I know plenty of people who go there and don't like being there. They prefer LJMU because its a lot more friendlier and the people are a lot chilled out. If you are the sociable type and want to study/have fun whilst at uni then LJMU is for you. However, if you prefer to just have the academic side of uni then I suggest Liverpool uni. Both unis are good for different courses. Liverpool is better for the more academic subjects you see like Medicine. The business faculty at LJMU is good.

    I hope this helps
