    It does not matter as long as you study at a good university (judging from your first post, you are looking at LSE!), demonstrate drive and ace the interviews. I know many people who interned at BBs in S&T, PWM and Asset Mgmt coming from those backgrounds. Myself included.

    As long as it's a strong degree then subject doesn't matter.

    So go for ones like english literature, maths, chemistry, law, history, geography etc, rather than film studies, media studies, journalism etc.

    However, university does matter a lot.
