Sports bra

Just went to the gym for the first time in ages and decided that it really is about time I bought a sports bra! My boobs aren't particularly big or anything (34C/D) but they jump around loads when I'm running.

Anyone got any recommendations about where to get a good one, online or in the shops? Can you get any that have underwire in them? I'm not keen on one without!

Cheers

Sports bras in general don't have underwire as it tends to dig. I use the Triumph "Shock Absorber" type which are all elastic and I really like them.
I just bought one, a "shock absorber" from Debenhams. Does the job!

They're not meant to be sexy! They have a job to do and they do it very well.
I need some pretty hefty scaffolding for my boobs. The shock absorbers really pin them down! You can get different levels of impact though, depending on what type of exercise you do
Primark do one for about a fiver.

They're not meant to be cute though lol. They look like a big bandage most of the time!
when i run they always seem to go all over the place but with a sports bra it should help!!

well, they are ugly but i guess i'll just have to get over it! just not used to wearing things like that, they remind me of the cropped tops i wore when i was about 9!

Go to a department store and get one from the lingerie section, not from the sports section, so it's made by a proper bra manufacturer. It might be worth getting fitted at the same time so you are getting the best out of it.
As everyone's said the shock absorber ones are good. I've seen a sports bra with underwiring *trying to recall where*, either John Lewis or M+S. Whilst we're on the topic of sports bras my friend used to wear hers all the time for 2 years when she was 14, now she's changed to a normal one, however she's a bit anxious because of something she read that she may have damaged herself, or made herself more susceptible to for example breast cancer. Anyone know if this could be true?

Wearing bras anyway increases your risk of breast cancer compared with women who do not wear bras, but this is only a statistical correlation and there's not much scientific proof of it yet, just hypotheses as to why the correlation may be there. Sports bras are more constrictive than normal ones, but seeing as she's stopped now, I shouldn't think it'll have damaged her permanently at that young an age?
Heehee, if this was gold it would look like Madonna's outfit :p:

These ones by Puma all look slightly less severe, but I've heard that they don't offer as much support as others...all depends whether you want one that looks nice or offers optimum support.

Depends on what sport you're doing really as to what level of support you need.
