Haven' got a clue Im afraid, Im hopefully doing them all next year though. I know M3 wont be as I have done sinusoidal motion in physics (if thats the one that covers that), for me probable FP2 or 3, have wait and see!

According to my teacher FP2 is harder than FP3. I imagine M5 is the hardest mechanics unit. I'll vote when I've studied them all.

FP2 is defnitely harder than M3. I haven't done any of the others so can't offer an opinion.

well.. the last chapter of fp2 is hard... and fp3 is long.... not hard but long...
m5 is so intresting,,, here was m6,, which was hard!
i cant tell which module is the hardest... each contain a hard part and an easy part...
i think that going from m2 to m3 is a bit hard... as m3 is a bit more advanced than m2 (i mean there is a "jump" between m2 and m3...)
i will vote fp2 as it contains one of the things that i HATED: the conics (or coordinate systems and intrinsic coordinates)

I've heard that FP2 is the most difficult pure module, and it would make sense that M5 is the hardest mechanics module. So I guess it's between those two  ...

well it all depends which side of maths you prefer, i prefer the pure and find it much easier than mechanics, so i would have to say M5 (had enough problems with M3 alone) i believe P6 is easier than P5 but there is so much to remember, thats the only hard part.
and to Yazan l, you are so right about P5 coordinate systems, but to be fair if you do enough past papers you'll easily recognise they ask the same questions over and over.

well... to be honest i didnt do enough papers before the exam... i barely finished the book... hehehe

dam.. Im doing fp2 for the summer. cries.

dont worry.. the first 3 chapters are not hard,,, actually contain some fun,,, it's only the last chapter

i dont think many people can comment on M5 really, very very few people take it... .FP2 is meant to be well hard tho...

yup totally right but some of the integration can be hard when trying to spot the substituition required as well.

Don't they usually give you the substitution to use at A-level?

Only sometimes in P5
whats in edexcel FP2 anyway? i have just taken FP2 for MEI and we covered inv trig clc, polar coordinates, complex numbers, matrices, maclaurin series, and hyperbolic functions, how does this compare to Edexcel???
cheers, its quite similar, except we don't learn about conics, do you learn about matrices and complex numbers in FP3?

ch1 : hyperbolic functions
ch2 : differentiation
ch3 : integration
ch4 : coordinate systems

Edit: have just seen the link that was given,,, it's just as i said but i gave it in the order of which it is in the book  (the book of P5 not FP2 .. donno if they changed the order for FP2! :P)
thanks

Obviously different people find different units harder than others. I found FP2 much easier than M3, for example.
