Photography degrees.

Hey all. Looking to apply for 2012 entry studying photography.

Looking at so far:
MMU
BCU
Leeds (But they want an Essay A-Level that I won't have so I might not waste a choice on it)
Kingston

Are these unis known for Photography? Is there anywhere I can look at their rankings by subject?
That might be an easy question but I'm new aha.

Thanks, Chris.
I looked for ranking on photography before, but nothing developed.

Ignore the two idiots above this, if you want to study photography then study photography. It's your life and if you can't study what you love then what's the point? The majority of people won't do a degree that relates to their job (I've worked with a guy who had the maths tripos degree thingy, someone with a biology degree, lots of people with English degrees and one former doctor who wanted their life back) so why bore the pants off yourself? Have fun.

I worked with a guy who was in his final year of a photography degree, not hugely sure where he went but it was a London university (might have been the university of Westminster). From talking to him it seemed like a really good course, he said the essay writing and research stuff was nicely balanced with the photography part. His photographs were particularly stunning and I think he managed to sell quite a few of them at their final year exhibition. He's going on to study cinematography.

Thanks for actually replying usefully guys.

I'm pretty curious about Kingston, as it ranks quite high on art and design from what I can see. Does anyone go there for an A&D subject and care to give a good review?
The halls even look good for the price, which is about the same price, some less than what I was looking at with MMU.

Considering your posts in the Current Y12 thread, I highly doubt that you've paid much in the way of taxes :teehee:
